Landed in Cairo a little after 11 pm on Friday night. Was a 4.5 hour flight from London. Made it to the hotel after 1 am. Cairo seems massive and crowded. Traffic was heavy even though it was late. You could see the minarettes of the mosques everywhere as we wove in and out of the chaotic traffic. We drove near the pyramids but it was way too dark to see them. Staying in a brand new hotel but the guy is here trying to fix the hot water as I type. I honestly think we may have been the first ones in this room and the faucet wasn't put on right and no one had complained yet because no one had been here yet. Hotel is near a theme park that seems to have licensed Alvin and the Chipmunks as opposed to Mickey and Donald. Thank goodness there is a KFC across the street in case we get hungry tonight. Tomorrow - pyramids !
